The City is considering several other options to create new capacity. The two most prominent are the West Loop Transportation Center and re-using the mail platforms in the old post office building.

The West Loop Transportation Center is pictured at left. It is a multi-level subway with the added benefit of connecting Ogilvie Transporation Center and Union Station into a single facility.
