Expansion: Bus and Taxi Center, Pedestrian Links

The Chicago Department of Transportation has applied for a grant to construct an intermodal center on the surface parking lot bounded by Canal, Jackson and Clinton.

The center would be designed to serve intercity coaches and some CTA bus routes. It might also be possible to build a taxi stand into the facility. The center could be connected to the main station through the existing parking lot walkway.

Blue Line Link

Extending that walkway one block farther south would provide a climate-protected pedestrian path to the Clinton subway station.

Ogilvie Link

A similar walkway could be constructed to connect Union Station to the Ogilvie terminal via the Daily News building.
