Quick Fixes | Main Waiting Room | Bus/Taxi Station | Connect to Transit

The Chicago Department of Transportation has applied for a grant to construct an intermodal center on the surface parking lot bounded by Canal, Jackson and Clinton.

The center would be designed to serve intercity coaches and some CTA bus routes. It might also be possible to build a taxi stand into the facility. The center could be connected to Union Station through the existing parking lot walkway.

Blue Line Link

Extending that walkway one block farther south would provide a climate-protected pedestrian path to the CTA Blue Line subway station at Clinton Street.

Ogilvie Transportation Center Link

A similar walkway could be constructed to connect Union Station to the Ogilvie Transportation Center via 2 North Riverside Plaza.
